Terms of Service

Short, and written to be read. If something here is unclear, write to us and we will say it a different way.

Who you are contracting with

Swan Club is operated by Jonathan Tellerain EI, a sole trader registered in France under SIREN 108 012 725, at 16 rue de Siam, 75116 Paris, France. Contact: contact@swan-club.com.

We are a French business selling to customers in the United States. That means French law governs this agreement, as set out at the end — and it does not remove any right your own state's consumer law gives you.

What Swan Club is, and what it is not

Swan Club is a subscription to written material: a map of rooms in your city with the night, the hour, what to wear, what to order, what it costs and how to open a conversation; a weekly practice; and, on the higher tier, a written mentor you can ask questions of.

Swan Club is coaching, not matchmaking. We introduce no one, we promise no one, and nothing here is a claim about what will happen to you. We do not introduce you to anyone, we do not arrange meetings, we do not screen or vet anyone, and we make no claim about what will happen to you. We are not a dating service, not a matchmaking service, and not an introduction service of any kind.

Nothing in Swan Club is a promise of a relationship, of income, or of any other outcome. If you read a claim like that anywhere — including in a post by one of our partners — it is not ours, it is wrong, and we would like to know about it.

You must be 18 or over

Swan Club is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to subscribe or to use any part of it. We ask before anything is saved, and if you tell us you are under 18 we stop there and keep nothing.

Price, and what happens on renewal

The Club is $490 a year, or $49 a month. The Circle is $990 a year, or $99 a month. Prices are in US dollars and are shown in full on the order screen before you pay anything.

This is a subscription that renews automatically — every year, or every month, whichever you chose — until you cancel. Your card is charged the same amount each period, on the same date, with no further action from you and no notice before each charge. The only minimum term is the period you chose and paid for.

You consent to those renewal terms on the order screen, where they are shown next to the payment button, and we send you the same terms again in writing straight after you subscribe. If we ever change the price, we tell you first and the new price applies only from a renewal after that.

Sales tax, where your state charges it, is handled by our billing provider and shown at checkout.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, online, in one click, at swan-club.com/us/cancel — no email, no phone call, no reason required. Cancelling is deliberately as easy as subscribing, and it stays that way.

When you cancel, your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for — the month, or the year — and nothing is charged after that. We do not refund a period already started: you keep the access you paid for until it runs out.

We do not run free trials and we do not discount the public price. A partner code may give a first month at a reduced price; after that month, the normal price applies and renews as described above.

Your member number

After you subscribe you are given a member number. It replaces a password, and it is shown to you exactly once. We keep only a cryptographic fingerprint of it, never the number itself — which means we cannot send it to you again, and neither can anyone pretending to be you.

If you lose it, write to contact@swan-club.com from the email address on your subscription and we will issue a new one. The old one stops working at that moment.

The number is yours alone. Sharing it, or sharing your access, is the one thing that ends a subscription without a refund.

What the rooms on the map are, and are not

Every room on the map is a real place that exists at its stated address. The night, the hour, the crowd and the dress are written from what is consistently known about that room, and where an address has not yet been visited in person for Swan Club, the page says so.

Opening hours, dress codes, prices and whether a place still exists all change without telling us. Call before you travel. We are not the operator of any of these places, we have no relationship with them, and we are not responsible for what happens inside them or on the way there. Your safety is your own judgement, and you should use it.

The mentor is a language model

On The Circle, the mentor you write to is an artificial intelligence, not a person. It is built on Google's Gemini model running on Vertex AI, with instructions written by us, and it will tell you so if you ask it directly. It never claims to be human.

It is coaching, not advice from a professional. It is not a therapist, a doctor, a lawyer or a financial adviser, and nothing it writes should be treated as any of those. It gets things wrong. Use your own judgement, and if you need a professional, see one.

What is ours

Everything written in Swan Club — the maps, the room pages, the silhouettes, the lines, the ritual — is ours, and your subscription is a personal licence to read and use it. Not to republish it, resell it, post it, or feed it into anything that reproduces it.

Anything you write to us — your answers, your journal, your messages to the mentor — stays yours. We use it to run the product for you and for nothing else. We do not use it in marketing, and we never use a photo you send us anywhere public without asking you first, in writing, each time.

If we end it

We can close an account that shares access, that abuses the mentor, or that breaks the law. If we do, we say which and why. Otherwise we only stop a subscription by stopping the product itself — and if we ever do that, we tell you and we do not charge again.

Limits

Swan Club is written material and coaching. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem, and we are not liable for anything that happens to you in, or on the way to, a place on the map.

Some states do not allow certain limitations. Where that is the case, they do not apply to you.

Changes, and the law that applies

These terms are dated above. If we change them, we publish a new version with a new date and tell subscribers by email. Changes apply from then on, never backwards.

French law governs this agreement, and the courts of Paris have jurisdiction. Because you are a consumer, this does not take away the protections of the mandatory law of the state where you live, and it does not prevent you from bringing a claim locally where your law gives you that right.
