The quietest serious money in Miami, twenty minutes north of the noise, in a 1930s club that was rebuilt rather than invented.

Who is there
Older and considerably wealthier than South Beach, and much more residential — a large part of the room lives upstairs. Finance that relocated from the North East, Latin American families, and the hotel's long-stay guests.
What to wear
Miami formal, which is not New York formal: a silk or linen dress, or good trousers and a fine knit. A heeled sandal. No blazer — in this heat a structured jacket reads as someone who has just arrived and has not worked it out yet.
How to walk in
Sit at the bar early, before the dinner seating pulls the room apart. This is a room where almost everyone is a regular or a long-stay guest, which means the bartender's introduction is worth more than anything you can do yourself. Become known to the bartender first.
