Who is there
The closest thing Dallas has to an establishment room. Old Dallas families, the energy business, and a constant supply of executives staying upstairs who know nobody in town.
What to wear
Dallas dresses up, and underdressing is the error here rather than overdressing — the reverse of Los Angeles. A proper dress or a tailored trouser and silk shirt, a heel, hair done. This is a city that notices effort and rewards it.
How to walk in
The bar, early, before the dining room seats. The hotel guests are the opening: they are in Dallas for two days, they are at the bar because they have nobody to eat with, and they will talk to anyone who speaks first.

It is a direct question and this city likes direct. Either answer opens: a first night wants a recommendation, a last night wants to tell you how the week went.
